art show: "places i remember"

When you travel, why do you think some places are so remarkable and memorable that you remember them for the rest of your life and want to come back? Is it the special colors of the sky or flowers? Maybe it’s the architecture? Or memories?

Or maybe it is the history and stories of these places that make it so special? Without them this place would be just trees, landscapes and old buildings.

I have places like that in my heart, which are much more than landscapes. I am sure you have them too.

It’s challenging for me as an artist to show how remarkable these landscapes are.

I came up with an idea to include in some paintings part of the history of these places.

These are collages on wooden boards, and I mounted watercolor paintings on them 

The Jerusalem collection has newspapers in different languages representing people living in Jerusalem.

Santorini has ancient murals found in the city of Akrotiri from around 3600 BC. When the city was destroyed by volcanic eruption in 1600 BC the frescoes were perfectly preserved. I used some elements of ancient art for my collages.
